Tyler Dancer is a DJ, producer, and musician from Kalamazoo, Michigan. His musical journey began at a young age, playing in local jazz & rock bands before becoming a DJ & Training Director at WCBN FM, Ann Arbor in 2006. Feeling the need to deepen his musical practice, knowledge, & understanding, Dancer began seeking both technical advice and feedback from producers he respected around the world. It led to Dancer making the acquaintance of Detroit Techno pioneer & Frictional label head Anthony “Shake” Shakir, with whom he made some of his first Detroit DJ appearances alongside in 2013. In 2014, Dancer met Manuel Gonzales aka MGUN (Wild Oats). They formed a live electronic act under the guise, “Club Creeps” and debuted their show in 2016. In 2017, Shake & Dancer released their remix of “Standing on the Verge of Getting It On,” for Westbound Record’s “Funkadelic: Reworked by Detroiters,” compilation. He also made his solo debut, “Resisting in the Darkness.” for Don’t Be Afraid Records.
